We were honoured to meet with Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill in June to share the story of Cancer Connect—who we are, what we do, and why our transport service is so vital to people affected by cancer in the Cork region.
This meeting marked a significant opportunity for our organisation, as the Department of Health extended an invitation to hear directly from us about the real-life impact of cancer transport services. We welcomed the chance to highlight the importance of sustainable State funding, ensuring that no one in our community faces a cancer journey without the support they need to get to treatment.
We’re especially encouraged by Minister Carroll MacNeill’s recognition and support of the essential role our service plays.
A heartfelt thank you to our steadfast ally, Senator Noel O'Donovan, for his continued support and for facilitating this important conversation.
Together, we move closer to building a stronger, more connected support system for those facing cancer across Cork.
